2009 BMW 528i oil filter housing gasket leak

Just found out my 2009 BMW 528i has oil filter housing gasket leaking when I am at dealer for battery replacement. Is this common? Does this problem happen to Lexus or Acura? I start to get worried. Should I sell this car in near future? Need advice. Thanks.

My car has been leaking from the oil cap due to a bad seal... had to have two of them replaced.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

Yes it is common, it is a very cheap part and just over an hours actual labor. All cars require regular maintenance. Even Japanese ones.

If you are this uncomfortable with what is in fact a relatively minor repair, I think you would be better off selling it for a new car with a warranty...
