We are setting up a "group buy" of sorts with a painter from the forum that we are flying out from California. The more the merrier. Cost for the entire car will be 800ish + cost of materials. Let me know if you are interested. Thank you.

details on paint job?
800 gets you what, how many layers of paint and clear, what kind of primer job, does it include sanding and prep, what kind of setup is he going to be painting in, whats the justification for choosing this painter over someone local

It sounds like $800 is the labor ... that does not include the paint and prep.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?

X2 on pics of your work I'm doing research on someone to re spray my car
Fingerblasting my iPad
Sorry I dont really have pics of my work, although if it means anything, Ive been a painter for Cadillac for a few years now. I Have my e60 that i will be doing a full resray soon and my E36 will be getting a color change. My e39 ....well whenever I can actually get it running again it will get some paint work.
I've been wanting to get a respray and some minor dings and scratches taken care of on my E39 for a while now. I was also interested in wetsanding.. my front and rear bumpers have cracks in them though and I would have to get new bumper skins before I look into resprays and wetsanding jobs.
Stancing is for drivers trapped in an abusive relationship of their own lives.
Well working for Cadillac is good but I'm interested in the facilities. I assume the same place you paint the Cadillacs is where my car would get sprayed, no? I'm not ready right now for a respray but I do want to find a good painter so when the time comes I know who to talk to and can get right to it.
Manny, Post pics of the bumper,we may be able to save them.
