ABS ASC light No Speedo

Hey guys, i juts replaced both of my rear E39 abs sensors......the guy who changed them, said the previous owner had cut the wires and soldered them together on the right abs rear sensor connector, hence why i am getting a warning light. my speedo was working fine before he changed them, now my speedo doesnt even work....he maintains my abs module is fine and is working.....any help would be greatly appreciated.
