    What is your dream setup?!?!

I was thinking last night about my ULTIMATE BMW. If money was not an issue, and BMW would build me any car, any way, what would it be? It could be an S85 V10 e39 6MT, or an e60 M5 with the e39 V8, dang I have no idea what I'd come up with. Probably would look like this:

    03 Body e39 M5
space gray or alpine white, black guts
    S85 V10, 6MT
Sport package, M Sport package, cold weather, modern day nav
    e60 M5 sport seats
    e60 M5 gauges
    F10 diff
    aluminum body, carbon fib roof
    PROPER CUPHOLDERS
hmmm which wheels? Probably the factory e39 M5 wheels but in 21 inch
    HUD (heads up display)

ANY car, any engine, trans, option, WHAT WOULD YOU BUILD? Dream away... I'd almost take a wagon. Think of an e46 CSL with todays F12 powertrain. or an S62 in the new 4 series, which I REALLY like.

SC'd LS7 E34 wagon I think. 6spd manual with big brakes and possible minitub to fit tires to harness the power. And it would need a trailer hitch.

I have carburetors, and I'm not afraid to use them!

Life is about enjoying the engine you are sitting behind.

Mine would be a dream garage rather than one car: Z3 M Roadster, Z3 M Coupe, E39 M5 and an X5M (I'm halfway there!)

A 319/1 though, with the engine built to modern standards. Maybe a couple of airbags...I'm sure we could work something out.

Why limit your choices to modern cars? http://www.bmwism.com/all_bmws.htm

Not so much a signature as a cry for help.

I really think having any previous M car with todays modern trimmings would be fantastic, the LSX S/C would be a joint BMW/ GM Venture. That'd be awesome. Made in Germany of course Vin code WGMXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    It is a hard choice.
Either a long wheel base e38 Alpina B12 6.0 with a 6 speed manual in any of the beautiful shades of blue Alpina paints cars. I would also be willing to take it in Imola red.

    or
A minty e24 or e9 with modern safety equipment and a very polished M30 engine with a 5 speed. Nothing too drastic, just the perfect cruiser. Black, blue, red, silver, the color doesn't matter, it just has to look minty.
    Current fleet:

1999 BMW e36 328is with rotary valve engine head
    1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
    1990 Jeep Comanche Eliminator
    1962 Austin Healey Sprite

id probably take late 80's 3series and drop the 4.0v8 from the m3 gtr into it. i like sleepers. i would also like a z3 or z4 roadster with the same motor. but my totally fantastic dream setup would be a z8 with the twin turbo 4.4 from the modern m5/m6. then i could die happy.

good call on the cupholders. seriously. the only saving grace is that its actually pretty easy to drive a 7 with one hand all the time. but it would be nice if i had room in my $80k sedan for a $2 cup of joe.

A Z8 with a proper diff and gauges where they are supposed to be.

    A Z8 coupe?

Mine would be a garage with:

    X5M
    E92 VF Supercharged M3
E39 M5 done up to the balls
    M4 Vert

But if to have one car...

    Supercharged E93 M3 vert, or the E60 M5 V10 engine in the m4 body.

Metallic Gray E46, Twin Turbo S65 near 700 HP, wide bodied, 7 speed dct. Id keep the interior components and have everything leather wrapped, Tablet interface, switch tunes between E85 and normal. This is one of my reasonable ideas... I could get crazy expensive with something.
'95 325is in semi-rare Arctic Gray, clears, some ///M parts, and much more to come!

an E65 that wasn't a POS. but that may be too far fetched. realistically? an E30 M3 Sedan.

I think the last thing I'd want to be in is something flying with a pressurised water reactor on board...
