Hey everyone,
I recently got a 88 318i (exciting) so it'll be my winter car. But I got an issue now.... My key won't unlock the doors... It locked it fine but doesn't unlock... Any hints on getting it open? (Trunk opens fine but back seats don't fold down)
thanks,
Shifty
If the key unlocks the doors, then you know it is the correct key. Start by spraying WD-40 in there to clean it out. The locks pins are actually little wafers that slide up and down. There might be a spur or something on one of the wafers. As for getting into the car, try the old coat hanger through the door jamb to grab the lock button.

That happened with my e30 a while back too. Wd40 the crap out of it and hope it works.
