Shooting some portraits at the near-abandoned historic Howey Mansion. I shot video for most of the day, but one of the other photographers left sick so I was able to take his place for about an hour.
I didn't get to shoot stills in any of the good "main" rooms - the ballroom, or the study with the fireplace. Shot some video on there though, we should have the video edited and up within a couple weeks.
Mostly ambient, supplemented by one Speedlight for fill. Processed entirely in Lightroom, as usual.

Starting to shift my processing style

Nismo - whats your secret to getting the lighting so perfect? Or is that all processing? I feel like I've hit a ceiling in my automotive photography and that photo is amazing.

A good bit of it is post work was used for those images (roughly 4-5 hours each). This set was my first time using a reflector and that helped with the lighting tremendously. Other then that, I will take a few images while rotating my circular polarizer to help clean up reflections. The first one I posted is a single exposure/polarization and the second one is 3 exposures/polarizations combined.
I really like the image you posted! I love the good background.
Exactly what Nismo said. A reflector or even a big white sheet does wonders, and cuts ugly/busy reflections in car paint. And a CPL is absolutely crucial for us as well. Sadly I just don't have that kind of time to spend on many shots, as I work too much and play too little.
Lightroom (on the creative cloud) can FINALLY do stacked exposures too, which would make that much easier.
Let me know your thoughts....

Thanks for the replies guys! I have a circular polarizer but I don't like using it so much because I get too much saturation sometimes. Gotta mess around with it more I guess haha.
-Douglas, nice shot!
Original pic by my friend Greg, and I requested a raw copy to do my edit. Spent a good 3 hours or so but I loved it so much.
