I try and have one from every class for each character so my options are applicable for any given scenario. That being said, sniper is always Ice Breaker.

Ah I wish you could switch out weapons faster... At least have two primary at once.

I was thinking attack was damage/time

I have a sniper with 132 attack and high impact and I get 1500 with a precision shot.

I have another with 147 and lower impact and my precision shot like 1200 and change but it shoots quicker.

Raids are harder and the rewards are higher. Need to be 27 for the raids I do believe.

I tried the strike playlist... and the people I was matched with were fucking stupid.

They just run headlong into hordes of bad guys, get killed, and then bitch when I don't revive them.

So then I either sit or dance in from of them.

They rage.

The damage rating is basically like the level of weapon in a sense. If its up to 331 its max level and will do more damage, but if the impact is higher on a particular gun it will do more damage than one that has a lower impact rating. It is all relative though. Typically scout rifles will do more damage per one shot than pulse/auto rifles, but of course you can get more shots off with the latter two so they are better for closer range fighting.
I usually have a scout rifle for primary as they are the strongest primarys (with a couple of exceptions) and a fusion rifle as a secondary for closer range when needed.
The black hammer is the sniper rifle to have, imo, because it is nearly as good as the ice breaker but allows use of an exotic primary or the Gjallarhorn.

FYI, if you have a hunter class character make sure to pick up the don't touch me gauntlets from xur this weekend. They are very useful in the crota raid (at least for the first section). When upgraded being melee'd from an enemy grants temporary invisibility.

Sometimes you end up with great people, sometimes not so much. Also getting involved with a clan (or group) is a great way to make good buddies with other like minded folks.

Hand cannons are beast, but not as easy to handle as a scout rifle. I agree that a good hand cannon is alot of fun and can kill things fast if you are good with it (love my thorn and last word hand cannons).

Xur is 'the agent of the nine', he sells exotic gear, legendary upgrades and exotic upgrades.
