Oh, I missed that thread. Nice one.
can be more interesting
Too much white-ness.
That custom steering wheel is a nice little detail.
Yeah but he would be buying a used interior for about $1k versus getting a custom reupholstered interior costing $5k+ that only hurts the value of the car.
I think his touring would have been a better candidate for a custom interior since it is already non-original and has the Individual paint, the right interior may help the value on that car (not to say I don't love the black, just that if he were to do custom I think that would be a better choice)
edit: As far as I can tell, RVAE never expressed any interest at any point in anything other than OEM interiors, why are custom interiors still being shared?

Its okay to discuss ideas, but it seems a bit like spam when its made over many separate posts vs. just one post. And when it is off-topic from the original thread it is considered hijacking the thread which I'm not sure if its against the rules per se but is not considered good etiquette. A separate thread discussing E39 custom interior options would be an appropriate place for such a discussion; a thread in which a single member is discussing his restoration of his car may not be the ideal place for this discussion

I don't mean to drop any spam here, sorry about that.
A little over kill on the interior...

I did consider custom (cinnamon) but it's too much money. This is what I want. Only I want to keep my black carpet. Never liked caramel carpet with this interior option. If I don't end up finding a nice caramel interior before long, I will probably sell it to buy a car that has it. And then put the birch anthracite trim in whichever car that may be.

That will be a great color combo, black top and bottom and caramel seats with black trim/covers behind backrests
Awesome build! Which model air compressor do you use for painting??
Caramel interior with black carpet and black seat bases looks great... like this but caramel.
That is the Champagne interior. I really like it, I would take it over Caramel in a heartbeat but its extremely rare (2-3 in the whole US, only 1 in "extended leather" like pictured above).

Wooooh, i never seen this color before
Wow!! That looks great too!
I just pulled all the tint off the windows. Looks a lot better IMO. I love that pattern that nice clean tint free rear glass has. I will post some photos once my mirrors arrive tomorrow.

I have seen those and may consider. Tinius has them (the guy I bought my touring from).
I use an 80 gallon compressor from Lowe's. It's over 10 years old and I cannot recall the brand. It's red. But I had these bumpers done at Brown's VW/Jaguar here in town because I know the manager.
Looking good!
