No underpanel or fender liners?

Are you a professional racer? How many seconds lapping could that new hood possibly have saved you? You could have just cut large holes in your sheet metal hood to save some money. While you are at it, cut some holes in the roof/trunk/fenders and pretty soon it will look like an Aerial Atom. Not to mention you can buy a used cold air intake for 100 buck on this forum....
Not to cr@p on your thread, but you took a beautiful car that was perfectly suited for the street and track, and made it hard to look at...
Nice radiator and I dig that interior setup, how much damage did those Brides do?

Nice that the hood was free, wonder if anything could be done with it to repair/improve it. Either way.. track car, meh! Hang onto the stock hood for sure

I bet that intake works 10x better and cost 10x less than a marketed one. I dont get the comments above; I wouldn't cut holes into the stock hood, keep doing what you're doing, there is always the option to swap back to stock.
As for cooling, not having an under panel might be hurting you. A custom solution might be in order. It might trap air in front of the radiator/ keep air out from behind the radiator. Creating a bigger pressure delta, at leas that's the idea.
Unless you have sponsors on the side of your car looks and track prep are mutually exclusive. Although you have an exceptionally clean car sir.
car looks great!
if you trying to keep it street legal...if u get a smog tech that is being a dick....its gonna be hard to pass visual with that intake among other things...

Fortunately intakes are easy enough to change. I have to swap my stock one back in for smog inspection and also (depending on atmospheric conditions) to pass the ridiculously low 90db sound limit at Laguna Seca.
the cai looks good, but amber corners with those nice black kidneys. which exh manifold is that?

Since it's a fun car and you can drive it according to conditions, probably not an issue: but beware of puddles with that CAI!
Current:

Sold:

94 R-package Miata
89 Honda NT650
87 325is turned SpecE30
That CAI is a neat concept if you live in an area where its 60 degrees out and the asphalt is cool. On the east coast we go to the track from Spring to Fall, when track temps skyrocket in the sun. Your CAI is right down there sucking that heat..........
Buy a cheap plastic headlight, and cut a hole in it for the intake. Much betterer there. Hi 5

This may be a stupid question but i have this on my bar and neither me nor my buddies know what its for:
What is that bar above the harness bar for?

You may or may not have just made your cooling system less effective with that hood. Extractors can be beneficial but haphazard hack jobs with zero study can also screw with your underhood pressure zones which help pull through the radiator.
Poor car.
The wholes in your hood make it whole no longer

Although I don't think that square hole does anything big for the overall cooling system (this is not your air cooled VW), it does help to draw some heat due to the air flow/foil thru and around the hood.
I'm curious how can it mess up the pressure zones inside the engine bay. Are you saying that the hot engine bay creates pressure gradient that actually helps direct the flow of air toward the radiator? Enlighten me a little here.

He's saying that without analysis you may be doing more harm than good. Someone on here has modeled the under hood pressure zones before with CFD. I don't remember who or when it was posted but you may be able to find it via a search. I think its fair to say that its unlikely that you've decreased the pressure gradient on your radiator.
