Exclamation Registration for Schuh Syndikat 2014 is NOW OPEN.

That's right folks.. Registration for Schuh Syndikat 2014, the east coast's Z3 and M Coupe event is now open: http://schuhsyndikat.org/registration/

Here's the Readers Digest Version of the Schedule:

Thursday, May 1st: We will meet in the evening at the Hampton Inn I-26-Biltmore Square in Asheville, NC. This puts us close to the Prelude drive route early Friday morning.

Friday, May 2nd: We'll get rolling early on the Prelude Drive - taking in pieces of the Blue Ridge parkway and some other twisties, we'll run south, making an afternoon stop at the BMW Zentrum in Spartanburg before making the interstate blast back to Charlotte. The ZSCCA is once again sponsoring our Reception meal at the hotel. We'll have car washing supplies on hand to clean up the beasts, and we'll no doubt be socializing late into the evening.

Saturday, May 3rd: Another early start.. After Breakfast, we'll head out to the Infamous Charlotte Cars and Coffee gathering. There's always something new and different showing up.. When that winds down we'll head to a location TBD for a group photo, then on to Euroenvy Autoworks to participate in their open house. After a stop at the Hotel to freshen up, we're off to a local eatery for food, drinks and awards..

Sunday, May 4th: During and after breakfast, I'd like us to gather to discuss plans for Schuh 2015. Then we can head for home.

We will have a T-shirt design to show you soon - if you want one, you'll have to register or order by April 7th.

We published the Hotel links previously, but here they are again:

    Asheville: http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/groups/personalized/A/AVLRRHX-SSP-20140501/index.jhtml

    Charlotte: http://hiltongardeninn.hilton.com/en...02/index.jhtml

There are a couple of caravans forming.. One coming north out of Central Florida and another coming south through the DC region. I'll let those organizers discuss that.

You were not first. and no, it's not the most expensive event EVAR- I won't name others, but trust me, you can easily spend more.

Since you mentioned the cost, let me explain it for those that wonder. I would like nothing more than for Schuh to be completely free. The fact is, there are costs associated with something like this. The primary one is Insurance. Other static events solve this by affiliating with large organizations that then provide coverage. The affiliating organization then calls the shots- dictating what you can and can't do. Schuh Syndikat is an independent event, and this is ON PURPOSE. We do NOT affiliate with BMWCCA and while we enjoy some sponsorship support from ZSCCA, they don't control any part of the event.

in 2012- the first year I did this, I lost a chunk of change fronting costs myself. My attendance estimate was way off, therefore my budget was way off, and I bought way too many T-Shirts (I still have some of those BTW). I'm not mad about that- it was a learning experience, and the event was frickin AMAZING. That said, I love all you guys like Bro's, but I can't afford to throw a coupe party every spring.

So for 2013, I adjusted the registration fee based on the first years attendance, plus a few more in growth. We also had a bit of sponsor cash (which I don't have this year, BTW). We had a surplus at the end, plus we sold raffle tickets for some stuff, so we donated a bit over $400 to Charity- Last year it was the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

This year - the reg fee is the same. $60 covers a car/Drive and their guest. T-shirts are $20. We get enough product donations from vendors that just about everybody walks away with something of value.

And once again, I renew my pledge: This is not a money making operation, I do this for love of this goofy-a$$ car and the people that own them. All registration fees are used to run the event. After the event is over, and I've tallied everything up, any left over money is donated to Charity.

This year, that Charity is Wounded Wear.. WW is a veterans service organization run by retired Navy Seal Jason Redman, who is himself a wounded vetaran. They provide modified clothing for wounded veterans at no cost. While I don't know Jason personally, I have a friend that does, and this is a worthy organization.

If anyone knows a sponsor that is willing to be involved with us, please send them my way - I'd love to drop the entry fee all the way to Zero!

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.. REGISTER> REGISTER> REGISTER!

How will you be heading south? Would I need to drive out west first?

Haven't sent one in a few weeks - you'll be included on the next. Route is still TBD - we will make it work for everyone.

Can my 10 year old son and I crash Wednesday? I'll have him completely bound in duct tape. He should be no problem at all.

Also, just added another coupe to the event. I told my uncle yesterday about it. He lives 2 hours from Ashville and will meet us there Thursday. He's already ordered off new rear rubber and a new hood Rondel. I think he's excited.

BRING HIM! Hopefully he doesn't get car sick Looks like there might be another kid there too! This is how we get the next generation involved in this hobby. Get their heads out of the XBOX and experiencing Forza for real.
