New thread, good. I know massive threads can be database nightmare for the poor servers...

Today, I finally recoded my EWS, allowing me to start coding options on my car. Enabled one-touch closing windows and sunroof controls, and tonight I'll be disabling a few bulb check warnings and anything else that takes my fancy. Only problem is, I enabled my acoustic arming and disarming, and it only beeps my horn - no alarm siren. Anyone ever experienced that before? It's the one option I want the most, but a beeping horn when you lock the car sounds AWFUL!

Poor baby is sitting outside freezing! I took it out the other night and came home at 4am only to get stuck until 6:30am when I gave up and walked home. I got it to the house but the drifts didn't let me put it in the garage and the snowblower decided to eat a PHONEBOOK and killed itself. This has been one cruel winter on everyone and everything!

So today... I just looked outside the window towards her sitting there and waiting patiently to be put to bed!

Driving to to work this morning in the 3. Poor e38 is sitting under a blanket of snow with these conditions:



Need to hook up the battery so it doesn't discharge and freeze.

New camshaft position sensor installed on bank 1 to complete my list of "to do's" from my scan done a few weeks ago.

It feels good to have my car running great, and knowing my fuel trim has been all sorted out. Big thanks to Timm and others for looking at my scan results on a thread I made, and recommending I take a look at my PCV instead of my MAF like my bmw specialist insisted was the problem.

So, after a couple months of having intermittent dsc/abs/brake and ses lights illuminated I am happy to report a clean looking cluster.


Now, to just get my final stage and blower done soon. Not a huge task, just need to find the time to get out to my brothers shop.

Got it up on the lift and replaced the broken rear trans cover. Did not have time to drop the pan and inspect the VB at nearly 3,000 miles after the rebuild. Soon

wash it and clean it up and them car would not start damn cas wash and now in the garage in TRANS-SAFE MODE

Installed a MK4 nav computer in one and replaced the non-functioning MKIII in the other. Now both working!!

Getting busy with the car already... most of this was done last night around midnight...

Clear tails - second-hand OEM:


M steering wheel - retrimmed in Nappa with M stitching






Also installed Audiovox Mediabridge (works with sporadic levels of success, need to persevere with it), upgraded Mk IV Nav (salvaged from our family's E39) and did the clear front corners last weekend.

I think it is also due for a new fan clutch soon as the fan is very loud, and may need a transmission software update.

Drove it over 650i miles to SLO. and back. On the way back had me with 4 college students and baggage. No problem climbing Gorman pass to 4144 feet with the rebuilt trans.

Turbo, I got the wheel off eBay from Pro_Interior, was retrimmed already. It came from Latvia so I was a bit skeptical but it all installed okay.

Gave her a much needed bath. Winter roads suck!! Can't wait for the plasti-dip in March. Going with the matte gunmetal and it can't come soon enough. I'm so tired of the multi colored look. She's still beautiful tho! Man those lines are amazing!!

Kouks that is awesome but you do realize I drive above 5280 feet every day even on flat ground. :-)

Thanks! There'll be lots of pics. I'm hoping to get it in by the end of February because I've got new grills and stuff I'm dying to install. The place doing it is fairly local and the price is awesome.
