Yes, I just changed to this weight this year as it looks to be more compatible with the Wisconsin cold. Currently in the S52, M44-DASC and two M54s (Z3 & X3).

Yes, why? It is a BMW-approved product, and works nicely in my current climate.

It's a smoother running oil in my car than Amsoil 0-30. I was surprised to say the least.

I've used it! Decent stuff I usually run a little thicker in the m44 but it sees the track and redline a lot.

I just bought a couple jugs for my next oil change.

Do you think this oil would be ok for FL climate?

    why wouldn't it be?

the second number is the important number in oil classifications.

the first number is just how it operates at "low" temps. At "low" temps, I'd prefer my oil to be as thin as possible, bc at "low" temps even the thinnest (aka zero weight) oil is too thick.

Well, I was just worried about the 0w at cold temps. Thanks for your help, guys!

I use it in my BMWs and VWs, 5 quart jugs are a good deal too.

I've used it in the Z for years, a few years ago when it became hard to find I switched to Lubro Moly 0w-40, but now Walmart is carrying the 5qt jugs again. If you cant find it, Amazon has it and its prime eligible!

I have used it for years in E39-540i, E46-325Ci and my Z. Never had any negative issues.

Sorry, I think i worded this wrong. Yes, in cold weather you'd want 0w, but in warmer temps like FL, is it too thin?

I really don't think that it becomes too thin in our summers, even though our summers in IN aren't quite as warm as FL's. I believe that the "40" part of the oil weight designates it's viscosity retention while hot. To me, this oil is a win-win.
