    MSS52 and MSS54 EWS Delete

I didn't discover this, but the person who did isn't active here. It's a very simple modification

    MSS52: Search for "64 00 46 00 00" and set the first "00" to a non-zero value
    MSS54/HP: Search for "64 00 5A 00 00" and set the first "00" to a non-zero value

If you want, you can also delete any DTCs that show up, but it's not necessary. None of them actually throw a CEL or interfere with DME operation in any way.

Basically you'd need to read out the software with something like BMWFlash or Galetto, change the byte I mentioned above (with a hex editor or something), correct checksums, and flash back. There's a lot of info on tuning these ECUs at M3forum now. Should be quite helpful for any of you who want to do swaps into older chassis.

Follow this for whatever the error code numbers are: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=458115

I can't be more specific without knowing what the actual error numbers are and which version of the MSS54 software you're running

When you say the first 00 to non zero, Do you mean the 00 between the 64 and 46? to like "01"?
or one of the two "00" before the 64?

I've changed it to 64 01 46 00 00, However I have "engine failsafe" and two codes 150 and 157 both are for internal memory faults. I also changed the sport button memory and SAI delete.
    Engine program is 7837952

    UPDATE....
I had an incorrect checksum. Was fixed and all is good and ready for the swap!

The picture looks correct to me. If the car doesn't start, that suggests something else could be wrong.
