I think that is a K25.
K27 had the racing dynamics text centered towards the front of the engine with racing put on top of dynamics, instead of side by side like on yours
I *believe* this is a K27

Thank's BimmerBreaker..... so it is K25 cover valve.
How rare is this cover valve and is it pricey now? I found a thread that in around 2004 RD cover valve more that $600.
Certainly looks that way! Because those car were "pre-internet" era, it can be hard finding accurate and detailed information. But from what I was able to gather it does seem to be a K25. A good resource would be to see if you can find a build thread or something with an original K25 or K27 and look for any engine bay pictures.

Yeah that M20 valve cover its pretty rare, have not seen many of them.
I have a hartge one myself.
RD was going to develop a 24valve head for the m20, but the molds burnt or something happened so it did not occur.

I doubt that was the case, the general speculation is that by the time RD had everything setup to release these heads as a no doubt stupidly expensive kit.... BMW was already bringing the M50 to market, shortly followed by the M50TU adding VANOS to the mix. Callaway was also working on a 24v M20 around the same time, although it never saw market either. http://myndasafn.bmwkraftur.is/d/55691-1/callaway.pdf
