FOR SALE – 2002 BMW 325iT Manual Sport Wagon
VIN:WBAEN33452EZ15193
Mileage: 141,XXX (wife’s daily driver, so slowly rising)
Color: Japanrot
Title: In Hand
Reason for Selling: Purchase a Honda Ridgeline for the Mrs.
Prelude:
It is time to bid adieu to our 325iT Sport Manual. It has faithfully served my family for the last year while we saved to purchase her Ridgeline. My original intention was to keep her as a third vehicle for fun weekends and 2-3 HPDE’s / year. Unfortunately, my beloved Honda Civic VX was totaled in March during my 122 mile/day commute, so this car will have to go to pay for the newer commuter we purchased.
Car History: (Important!)
This is a Florida car with three owners prior to me. It was deemed a total loss in a right rear wreck at the end of 2011. It was rebuilt, inspected, and retitled prior to my purchase. None of this was hidden during my pre-purchase inspection. The rebuild is mechanically solid, but not aesthetically perfect. If you are looking for a show car, you can move on to the next ad in the classifieds, as you will be disappointed by this vehicle. I’ve chronicled the finished repair work in the photos of the rear hatch in the ad and in the Photobucket album.
My Ownership:
After purchasing this car last spring, I had Dave at Markert Motorwerks crawl over the car and repair the critical safety and maintenance items. (with performance items when possible) All maintenance work, including modifications, is noted with dates in the list below. She always starts and runs flawlessly. The Dinan components are from the previous owner and live up to the brand’s promise – a more refined and exhilarating driving experience. The Dinan suspension combines with the intake, throttle body, and Remus exhaust to enhance the great BMW attributes without being obtrusive. (I’ve had numerous cars on the other end of the spectrum!) This car is a truly fantastic daily driver; the added practicality of the hatchback is a great bonus!
So what isn’t perfect?
- Eleven year old red BMW paint has clear coat spots peeling on the roof.
- The rear bumper seam with the plastic groove (driver’s side) shows some paint flaked off.
- There are small scratches along the body, but very few dents, if any.
- The interior panels in the rear of the hatch are not present. (headliner unaffected) The foam pads and BMW cargo liner provide a good floor and cover.
- The A, B, and C pillars need to be recovered, as they are starting to separate. ( The headliner is doing well.)
- The leatherette on the base of the rear seat looks bad, but is not cracked.
- The rear hatch glass spoiler gently contacts the roof seam when fully opened.
- The Airbag light is on because I accidently reconnected the battery before reconnecting the passenger door airbag when replacing the window regulators.
- The driver’s side driver’s seatback bungee is stretched.
- The front mid-range grills are off, but all speakers function properly. (no tears in the surround)
- The leather on the passenger door panel that is adjacent to the airbag is untucked along the seam 2-3 inches.
- The rear doors let some water through the top, rear corner when the high pressure jets of a guided car wash spray directly onto them. Hand washing and rain never come through.

Enough already – how much and where?!
$6,500 OBRO. PM or email me using my forum name + gmail.com. The car is in Social Circle, GA 30025.
It is hard to find 325iT Sport Manuals, so look at actual market value, not KBB. Subtract for the damage, add back ~50% for the numerous modifications, and this is a fair price to start at. Serious, local buyers are welcome to inspect the car, but no joy riding please. My family has a busy summer ahead, so please respect my time and yours. Several of the locals have seen the car at the Conyers meet and have met me personally.
The only trade I will consider is for a 2006-2009 Honda Ridgeline RTL with cash on my end. Period.
Please do not clutter this thread with snarky comments or lowball offers. If you feel the need to insult, you are welcome to PM me, but don’t expect a reply if you are rude.
Best regards,
Chris
I bought a car from this seller a few years ago and the car was just as described over my period of ownership. He's a straight shooter. GLWS.
Well written and documented Ad.. No surprises, GLWS!!
Hey, where's Perry!?
I love this car! I agree, great ad, incredibly detailed list of mods and maintenance. It seems like a fair deal. If only it were white and 2500 miles closer to me I would buy it!
If this had a few less miles and you lived a few less miles it would be a match made in heaven for me. GLWS, it's a wonderful car and you are obviously very passionate about it, hats off to you

Ugh, exactly what I'm looking for and on the wrong coast.

I received several similar posts and PM's. a few notes for interested parties:
1. I've purchased cars from long distances and understand your concerns about truthfulness, surprises, and transactions.
2. The car will reliably take you anywhere you need to go in the United States. My wife and children have taken numerous +1000 mile road trips to visit family without a hitch.
3. Atlanta is a major hub, so you can get here with relatively inexpensive one-way fares. I'll be happy to pick you up at Hartsfield Airport.
4. I have shipped and received cars using car delivery services. We can work out details if you choose this route.
Please contact me if you have questions.
Thanks,
Chris

Many phone calls and emails, but still looking for her next owner.
SOLD! Thanks Frederick!
Drove perfect on the way home!
I purchased this car back in June of 13'. Its been great. I am looking to move on to a e39 M5 or e46 M3 as a daily. Therefore i will no longer need this fun car. Likewise I am posting this as a feeler, to see if there is some interest.
Regards,

Currently the car is getting new front brakes, replacing some interior pieces, polishing/smoking headlights and tails, and looking into a SES light (think its the thermostat)
Can you post the current mileage? And have you decided on a price?
Thanks.
I'm local (Charlotte) and interested. PMd you my info
...
Fellow EE also interested, and also local (ish). ;-)
Any chance of reply?
Sorry guys, I am rarely on this forum. Mainly on F10 M5 post. i do still have the car, and maybe drive it once/twice a week. Its such a great utility car, that i pretty much decided to keep it. However now that i will be buying my wife a 2016 3 series wagon, there is probably no need to keep it. I may trade it for a e36 M3 manual sedan.
