    DUDMD's tuning

    How is the tuning coming along for the m62tu? I have the high flow m60 intake, dinan TB and MAF, and cai, but don't want to pay for the stage 5 tuning.

    Working on it still. I'd like to have the big everything intake setup and tune ready by bimmerfest at the latest. I have made some progress last night.
    For a stock engine reflash or just intake add-on, those tunes are ready to be modified and hit on the dyno. The software is 99% ready for tuning, working out one last detail right now and then I'll be testing the flash on my x5 first to make sure that there's no issues.

    You got the dinan tb I want that to its like 800 without installation

    Ok I don't think mine is considered stock, as I have all the Dinan mods, but just want more of an aggressive tune like yours. Would your stock tune compensate for the larger MAF and TB?

    Yes, that's also ready for beta testing/tuning. Software is all ready. I'm focused on the vanos tunes first, then onto non-vanos m62. Cost is not yet determined, but cheaper than Dinan is the goal.

    What are the dimensions of Dinan's tb on hand? Im too lazy to measure at the moment.

    Sounds like a reasonable goal, what's dinan's pricing at?

    Don't you have to pay for each stage also? Like if you already have stage 1 and want stage 2 you pay again I full? So it would be $400 for S1 and then another $500 for S2 on top of that.

    I thought the stock TB was 75mm?

    No you only have to pay the difference. So if you have the cold air intake you would only pay for the stage 2 price and if later on you add the non-vanos runners, tb, and MAF you would only pay the difference between the two. But as Dima said earlier his tune for the bigger intake for the m62tu will be more aggressive than dinan's stage 5 software and it will be cheaper!!!

    M62TU software is almost there, just a little bit more. I already did a test flash, which went well. Higher rev limit, speed limiter (haven't tested it yet), ignition maps worked well, and no check engine lights. I'll be doing a lot of testing in the next week, and maybe some dyno testing depending on how much free time I have

    It was just a flash with slightly more timing in higher load/rpm. Just a test flash to make sure everything works fine. So neither.
    The big intake tune will be coming soon.

    I can't wait for the big intake flash! Dinan was trying to get me to purchase the Stage 5 software for a bargain at $250 but I told him I probably could get more out of a tune from someone else. Hopefully by the end of April everything will be up and running. It wouldn't matter or affect how the car runs performance wise if the stage 5 and the bigger intake tune was BOTH installed? I guess I'll just wait.

    Wow, $250 was a steal. Is installation extra cost? I don't know why'd they would offer a $900 stage 5 tune for less than their stage 1 tune.


    I believe the software is 100% ready now. I spent a few hours today figuring the last detail out, and it's good. Flashed a modified tune on my 4.4L 2001 X5, and all went well. No codes, no errors, no check engine lights and the car pulls better and smoother.

    Now it's time for me to build the 4" intake on artur's car and hit the dyno for some tuning to build a tune that is more aggressive and better than dinan stage 5.

    Yeah I don't know exactly why it was that price. Evidently the dinan rep already thought I had stage 3 software on the car so I would only have to pay the difference which was $250-300 with their recent sale.
