Anyone looking for an m3 shell? This one runs and drives. Ugly seats but a decent price.

Pressure washed the top of the engine bay and then put the car in the air and got underneath. It's amazing how much grime and stuff collects from driving. It's all nice and clean now.

How much of a pita is doing the motor/trans mounts? They look pretty inaccessible without removing a bunch of stuff.

Motor mounts are cake. Trans mounts should be easier than an oil change

Are you sure? Compared to the e30 they seem like a pita. The oil change on the m was cake. Maybe I've been spoiled by e30s. Hmmm

Tunes are apleanty and the car runs better than ever, yet I still am only seeing 6psi. I had to bridge the grounds for the 803 maf and boom! Magic maf-ness and smooth idle and part throttle. Wot is also fun, but gets rich past 6psi as motor is looking for moar boosts. Dohc will know dammit.

I recommend draining the radiator and disconnecting the rad hoses from the tstat housing. It allows you to jack up the engine easily without stretching the hell out of those hoses. Spray penetrating oil on all 4 motor mount nuts the day before. I've done motor mounts on a few e36s. It really is simple. Working on an e36 is usually a lesson in extreme patience. Motor mounts aren't like that. I use a swivel joint and a 16" extension on one side. Just a 16" extension (no swivel) on the other. That'll get the top nuts off. Go up through the big hole in the control arm to get to the bottom nuts. Couple hours max and you're done. Inspect your passenger mount and make sure the heat shield is in good shape before you start. Order a new one if it looks nasty.

Ever done a front wheel bearing on an e36? Yeah it's that simple.

Nope this is my first e36. I've worked on e30's and e34/32, one x3. That's my BMW experience. Damnit I just replaced the radiator and hoses, filled with fresh coolant. Hahaha oh well.

I drain it into a clean container then I use a cone filter from my auto paint supplies when I pour it back in. If that filter is good enough for auto paint it's good enough for coolant

I would not drain radiator to change motor mounts. No need.

I just picked up my instrument cluster jumper cable from the dealership. Any one in the lounge ever used it before?
