Is it possible to just run 1 steel braided line from the brake master cylinder to the unlock valve then to the brake slave cylinder? Where can I find a line like that? Or where could I go to have a steel braided line like that made?
Its called clutch delay valve, or CDV

So you're looking to replace the hard line that runs from the master to the slave? Easy peasy.

I thought the clutch delay thing was a PART of the E36 M3 slave cylinder,
which is why it's been suggested (since I joined this forum) to swap from the E36 m3 slave to the 325/328 slave.
The E36 325/328 do not have the "built in" "valve" thing and make for less "luxurious" shifts.
AM I missing something
or were the early members spreading misinformation?
All e36s have the CDV. It's not part of the slave it is inserted in the tubing from the master to the slave

CDV is nothing more than a restriction fitting in the line. A fitting that can be removed and the hose can get plugged in directly to slave .

Fly did you post your numbers from nedw? Did I miss them or you being shy
E36 in pieces
325/328 slaves are different from M3 slaves.
One of the first mods I made sure would be done,
for better "shifting" feel,
according to the longstanding members.
It seems the hose is also different;
hence what you guys are talking about.
It's been so long since I did this mod (7 years ago).
So it's the install of a nice braided steel hose/line that runs from the slave to the master cylinder that may be MORE important?
though quite a few members in the FI section found that 325/328 slave worked better to solve their low engagement issues too.... hrrrrrm

Also
325/328 come with the simple #12 line/hose
while the M3 comes with the complicated #23 line/hose with #25 switch.
325/328 cylinders have smaller diameter cylinder than the m3 units too.
