Does anyones VDO clock actually keep time? Or am I asking too much of it?
I'm starting to wonder if its not wired for constant power.

When I went to reset the clock for the time change, mine was about 4 minutes off. It has been at least 6 months since I have corrected the time before this past weekend.

Mine works accurately.

Stuff. I got stuff.
Mine is accurate.
Add it to the list of common Z3M problems.
I replaced mine and it has been keeping very accurate time ever since.
The clock in my coupe has a mind of its own, and a sense of humor to match.
I lose about 3 to 5 minutes a week - but I just figure it's close enough for rock & roll. Every couple of weeks I get it back in the neighborhood of whatever my phone says.
My clock is completely off too. should i attempt to fix it somehow or am i better off trying the bimmerpartsstore? Any guesstimates on price?
Mine works properly...

Mine is accurate and useful.

Mine's a fine swiss-grade, automatic that just needs movement to get going. So I drive the hell out of the car.
.... just kidding. It doesn't keep time.
Mine works
Mine is exactly one hour fast...Was working fine until Sunday morning?!
:-)
Mine works just fine also.
Mine worked fine until it was replaced with a boost gauge!!!! : ) who cares what time it is!!!
Active HKS Stage 1 S/Crrrrr: m50 intake: Euro Oil Cooler: AA Exhaust: H&R/Bilstien
Mine has been out for a long time; my head unit tells time just fine.
Water temp gauge is way more important than either the time or boost...
