I have considered dropping a B35 into my euro 735 and either sell or rebuild the poor, tired 10:1 that came in it. (it drinks oil at about 1qt/400 miles)
In the E28 world that I come from, this is a popular upgrade also, but only very few early B35 blocks have the bosses on the block drilled for the the stock E28 mount arms.
Is this a similar problem on the E23?
Thanks

I only know of one guy with a B35 swap. He is over on bimmerboard. I recall three of the four bolts worked.
That is all the information I have, sorry.
I make E23 parts.

Wow how is this not a more common upgrade?
I posted this over there too, so we shall see.

His handle is 'goms' or something of that nature. I will try to find a post.
EDIT - http://bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/1094119/
Why it is not more common is beyond me, it is a huge bump in power and efficiency...nearly same power on 87 fuel as the 10:1 made on 91+ is impressive to me. If I was keeping my 735i N/A I would do a B35 swap. It is a good swap even if going with a snail... since my motor is fine, I will just run it. If I had a bum motor, I would probably swap in a B35... there is one at my JY for a few hundred.
I still want to see a B35 exhaust and MS (or -179 Mot) on a US B32... those have a hotter cam, nearly 9:1 static compression, and pull to near 6k stock.

The early b32 cam is about the same as the B35/euro 10:1 cam (same part #)
I have emailed goms187 too see, although I think he lucked out and used an early b35 block, which has the proper bosses drilled.
I do agree to wanting someone to upgarde their B32 to Motronic 1.3, I think it would be a perfect conversion.
Same CR, nearly the same cam.
Just swap the injectors along with the harness and it would be great.

I looked at Goms thread and yes, he used an early B35 with the extra bosses drilled.
I have since found 4 early 88 735s at the yards near me, but definitely no time/way to put ANOTHER motor in my garage right now...(already have a B35 block/M90 piston mutt motor and an M50)
