I have liked the ones like from 95 to 2006 kind of 2007. Not sure if I like all the newer designs.

Honestly they are all good. Every body style is special in their own way. You won't go wrong with any M3.

If you can afford to you should have one of each generation in your garage.

I am gonna have to agree with aga080, being that 1999 was the last year of gen1 models and 2006 for gen2. It makes sense that these are the best years. Never buy a first year model they almost always have problems. (i.e. 2014)

if you havent noticed, every year is pretty darn good, pick the body style first, then choose the right car, any year is good forget about it being the "first" year the M3 never had a bad first run

As awesome as the e90/92 M3s are, they just dont seem to be as legendary as the other generations. So onto 2014 it is...

Nothing...just the last built ones tend to be better built and they are newer.

Don't get an e36 m3, its not a real m car. The best thing about the e36 m3 is that the s50/s52 is an easy swap into an e30.

yes the e30 rules the corner but the e36 is more up to date than a e30 and has power

2003.5-2006 (e46) happen to be my preference. But as stated above, all M3s have something to offer and they are all great cars.
