I'm shuffling around a few ideas for tunes. The least expensive is the Shark tune available on the tuner motorsports website at 349$. I've also found Active Autowerke, at 599$ and power chip at 699$.
Would anyone care to respond with their opinions?
Thanks
If I was going to keep my car, I was going to get the Evolve Tune. Here is more info on it:

Don't waste your money on the shark tune. IF you go with powerchip, sign up if your haven't on m5board, and you can get the m5board discount of $500.
I have the powerchip tune and am pretty happy with it. Had the shark before it and it is garbage.
This forum is kinda dead E39 M5 wise.. go to the M5board forum for tons more info and a dedicated group of M5 heads. (We all took the red pill)

Get the evolve alpha-N tune and you'll never need to replace your MAFs again
P.S. head to m5board
Evolve or Powerchip
Evolve seems to be really active on the M5board and has great reviews and customer service. I'm debating on getting a tune, but I think a supercharger is the only thing that will make me happy.

+1 for M5board & Evolve tune.
bf.c is E36 territory.
Got the evolve tune and am happy with it. I don't mind changing out the MAFS every once in a while. It's the stuff that you can't fix that I really like (SAP delete). Add to that good customer service, the best product, and the extra cost is well worth it.
When I picked up my beast 3 years ago it had the Shark tune. Was sucky and I went back to stock. Installed the AlphaN tune over the winter... MAF & O2 Delete... is awesome.
