New USB VAG-COM cable arrived.. What is this?

    So I ordered a USB VAG-COM Cable.

First the cable that arrived was white/clear instead of blue..

When I opened it on the inside I see two chips.

    One says
    07PONCA63
    LW339

    The other has CH340T

The cable installed under windows XP as USB-Serial CH340

Will this work with dis/porgman/sss etc??

I am trying to find a pinout on this to know what i am supposed to solder to make the ignition detection, not even sure if I am supposed to use the top chip or bottom on on the IC.

almost 100 viewers and no replies??

Comon guys please help me out

Yea that's the one I got myself.. exactly same layout.

I do have the pinout diagram for that CH340T chip tho. I am just not sure if it would work. Who did you order it from?

I soldered pins 7&8 and tried SSS progman yesterday to see if my car would get read but it didn't

I have read that those are fakes.
And I didn't even try to solder anything because its totally different things inside. When i unscrewed it black cable was detached. Returning it tomorrow for refund.

I bought it from http://myworld.ebay.com/loso83 the item is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/270821338739
On print inside the box it sad sold by Loftek, so i assume they buy it on amazon from them and just sell it on ebay. while making around 5 buks, pretty nifty. Because the date i purchased it on 29 and receipt inside sad jan 30, and looks from amazon. This its original source: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?seller=A7XHMWMCZ9EID

That does look weird, but if the chips function is the same then you should be able to look up the spec sheet and find the right pins to change. The pins on the hood won't change but the pins for the serial com chip probably will. IF this hood will act and work as a VAG COM connector then one of those chips should function similarly and you should be able to make the necessary changes.

Thanks for the info. I did find a ebay seller that actually sells the FT232RL chips and I contacted him about it and confirmed so, and have found on other forums people talking about the same seller selling this specific chip.

I did find the chip pinout for that chip in question, I think I am going to bridge those 3 pins together and see what happens.

Cause right now the guy wants me to ship it back.. by the time i pay postage back to hong kong its going to cost me more than its worth. I will post results once I solder the 3pins together.

I received the exact same cable. I bridged pins 7&8 and I am able to connect with INPA sporadically. Did you get a chance to bridge those other pins?

    DW

I did a little more testing and my success rate is getting better connecting to the Engine tests. None of the other modules will communicate at this point, but I am pretty happy with the progress so far.

    Interesting..

I bridged points 7&8 and nothing was working for me.. So perhaps my installation was junk.

Then I went ahead and tried soldering the other pins but just destroyed the cable, got mad at it and burned the thing off LOL.

I went ahead and ordered on ebay a complete package with cable and all the software for $38.

Pins 7 and 8 are required for E46 and older chassis newer chassis don't require it and should ideally have it separated due to BMW repurposing pin 8 for Ethernet. I posted a wiki article on BMWcoding.com with full information on which models require 7-8 bridged.

    Hi dracon,

I can't send you pm, because I registered yesterday. I download SSSV32 preloaded from your sharing ( http://www.4shared.com/dir/IzzqCIkM/BMW_Tools.html ) but one file is missing: BMW SSS.zx19 (204,800 KB)
Can you help me to download only this one file please?

    Thank You!!!
