Figured I would see what everyone's car history is
1982 Pontiac J2000(Sunbird) 5 spd manual- Given to me by my parents for HS great first car but then again All my parents drove were sticks even the mini van
1984 Monte Carlo 1300$- crappy automatic v6 (good back seat ) Was the first motor Ive blown up, sent a piston threw the side wall doing some dukes of hazard driving in the winter.
1972 Old Cutlass CS Pearl Blue (once i sprayed it) 290$ 350 Rocket, great car learned most of my DIY on this bad boy, and it was faster than a 90's Mustang.
1985 Pontiac Fiero 2M4- 800$ Got me into driving around corners, gotta love mall parking lots they are like mini race tracks.
1986 Audi 80 Chocolate Brown -split 50/50 with a buddy till I bought his $250 out. Great little car never left me stranded, with winter tires would eat up miles of Alp Snow. Best feature you could change the CV Joints with out jacking up the car or removing the tires. (always wishful that engineers will design cars around future repairs)
1987 BMW 325e 800$- loved the torque from the 2.7 but wasnt fast enough
1986 BMW 325i Coupe- 1600$ Best handling car Ive owned Loved this car, even named it. It was an "iS" dropped on custom springs, camber set to -3, (ate up corners like it was on rails) wheels didnt stand up till over 100mph and would cruise all over europe at 120. But rust ate the body and failing inspection left it in the garage.
1989 VW Scirocco GT II- 500$ bought this car because all the car magazines raved about its handling, and its sports car like prowess worst car Ive owned!! Pegged it in 3rd up a hill and blew the motor one day when I was heading home from work. Unfortunately I was the one place in Europe that gets no cell phone reception, had to walk for a bit....
1987 BMW 325i Coupe- 500$ crap engine, spun a bearing and the rod punched a hole in the oil pan. Limped it home on 5 cylinders and dropped the 1986 motor in. Stripped down the 1986 and upgraded the stock 325 to an "iS". Good car but euro spec had to leave it.
1990 Chevy Astro 2200$ AWD just what you need after a 5 year hiatus in Europe. (running every where over 100mph it takes some time to get used to 55 again)
1994 Honda Civic 1600$ Sounded 10x faster than it was. But if you want a car that gets good gas mileage and winds out the motor without really moving very far, this would be THE car.
1994 Chevy Astro 2500$ RWD faster than the Civic, and cold AC
2001 330 Had been wanting another BMW for a long time when this Texas raised beauty came into my life. Its been my DD for years, Trekked and tracked all over the world. Badge-less , its a great lil sleeper.
1997 316i 1500$ Had custom suspension and road like a rock.
1994 320i sold the 316 and used the cash, good car but still not fast enough
1997 520i sold the 320 for this, good highway cruiser till it decided to get into a fist fight with a guard rail. (guard rail won)
1996 Ford Escort (euro) Wagon- 300$ had the 2.0 good on gas and the highways
1993 Mitsubishi Colt GLXi- this was the most fun car to drive, handled curves esp given the 155/R13's and just the right amount of pep for a 5 speed. Gut an E30, make it FWD, and make it ugly= Mitsu Colt
2005 RX-8 Precise turn in very nimble low on torque, tons of fun to track but not my cup of tea. Had a great reducing radius corner that I would drive once a week, sometimes in this and others in the 330, at speed the 330 is so much more composed, no back end stepping out, and was able to get on the power earlier at exit.
Whoa thats longer than I expected. any who just wanted to see what you have owned
Ryo
1988 Ford Festiva 1.3L 4-speed - Friend gave it to me for free. Swapped a B6T (turbo 1.6) out of a merc capri with a 5-speed. Funny... but that thing would probably give my M3 a run for its money.
1992 Nissan 240sx hatchback - stock SR20det swap
Gotta Love a sleeper! These are my previous toys.. dd list is to long and boring.
1984 Chevy Chevette (coupe,$150, 1996)
1979 Chevy Chevette (4-door,$400 aka The Brown Turd, 1996)

2008 BMW 328i (Current)
2009 Jeep Liberty Limited (Current Tow Vehicle)
1992 Toyota Corolla (given to me by my parents 2003-2004). I beat the snot out of it and it never broke down on me.
2000 VW Jetta 2.slo (it was wrecked and I got it for $3700. 2004-present!). Fixed this puppy up for about $2k and it has been extremely reliable. Now my wife drives it.
1993 BMW 525i (paid $1600. 2005-2007). Spent over $2k on it, but loved it to death. Sold it to another BFCer when it hit 250k miles.
1995 BMW M3 ($6000). Not much to say. It's definitely a fun car and surprisingly cheap to maintain. I wish I had room for a DD though because the stock suspension is stiff and the roads here are terrible. The only problem with this car is that it has no soul (to me at least). I regretted selling the E34, but I would have no qualms about getting rid of this car tomorrow if I had to. I am an E30 and E34 fan boy though.

2000 Pontiac Bonneville (Drove it for like a week before my dad switched me to the Sebring, he got a new car since then, so it has become my winter car)
2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible (Drove it for 2 years until my sister got her license)
1999 M3 (See sig. Bought it because we needed another car and it was my reasonable dream car at the time)
I still love the M, but sometimes wish it was a coupe or sedan. I'll have this car for a while I think.
1995 VW Jetta GL - Auto used
1996 VW Jetta GL - 5 spd used (someone rear-ended my 95 and insurance totaled it out so that is why I got the 96 and then decided to go 5 spd)
2002 VW Jetta GLS - 5 spd (was def time for an upgrade - bought brand new in 2002)
2005 X3 - auto (it was a dealer demo - bought in 2006 - was about to get pregnant and wanted a smaller SUV
2008 528xi - auto. Got it this year in April - CPO off 2 year lease with low low miles. Love the car, drooled over them. I am nuts for going from an SAV to sedan with 2 toddlers but we are done having kids and they fit fine in car.
Next - might go for X5 or 2011+ 5 series. We'll see...still have time current car.

1995 e36 m3 lol do I win anything for the shortest list?
99 Grand Am 2 door coupe 3.4l V6 auto bought from auction when I was 16 for $2000 had 140000 kms drove great parents made me sell cause it was too fast.
1997 Golf 4 door manual 1.8L bought from auction with 200000kms on it for $800. Biggest Pos ever repairs cost more than car.
Now i'm 19 bought a 96 e36 318is 8 months ago and is my current car, another PITA but I knew what I was getting into. Drives and handles amazing compared to The many generations of Acura's my parents own. Bought privately for $3500 with 180000kms on it. (55k miles?)
I'm About to give it a whole new paint job while I have it in storage for winter then sell In the Spring and either buy an e46 or a newer GTI.
my list is not so impressive. my father's on the other hand is i think. He was born in 1935. This is a list from what i personally know (photographs, stories, etc.):

2004 Honda Civic coupe HFP
1986 BMW 325 sedan
1995 BMW M3 coupe (My current car)
2009 Honda Civic sedan
I lumped in my two cars just for the hell of it. I'm sure i'm missing a couple cars here and there. But holy crap, that is a LOT of cars. Some of them worth a TON of money too, assuming he still had them.
From first to recent...
1989 Porsche 944 (Started my love for German cars)
1989 BMW 325i
1995 BMW M3
1984 Porsche 944
2001 BMW M3
2001 GSX-R-600 ----- bikes should count
1992 BMW 525i
2001 CBR 929RR
1995 Mustang 5.0
1996 BMW M3 (Current)
1999 Dodge Grand caravan (first car, learned on it till the transmission blew up)
1999 Toyota Camry (temporary borrowed from my mom)
2004 E46 325i is my current car.
95 S10 4 banger 75k miles for 1000 bucks it had pimpen trans am wheels pulley went on my HS Grad day. Dealer offered me more than what I paid for the truck so I got a
03 Ford Ranger @7k w/40k miles ( great truck) miss that one
05 Colorado @ 16k w/ 20k miles don't miss that one
07 328 and 91 535 at the moment
The 535 is going no where, the 328 I would like to trade in a couple years down the road for a 335 Or M3 sedan. Who knows we will see
1979 Chevy Silverado - 383 Stroker, built transmission, and "granny gear" in transfer case sitting on 35" tires and a 6" lift. This truck was a BEAST but I was young and I managed to drive it into the ground, had fun doing it though.
1986 Nissan 200SX - bought it from a friend for $500 (what a dealership offered him for trade-in) and drove the hell out of it for about 2 years. It was RWD with a 6-speed and we used to hit the dirt roads rally-style. Ended up selling it to a junk yard for $100.00 when I joined the Army.
1996 Jeep Cheroke Sport (XJ) - kept it stock and drove it for about 6 years without any major issues. Great vehicle!
2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport (XJ) - after the first XJ started to show its age I decided it was time for a new SUV. In the end I tracked down a low mileage XJ for a good price because most of the newer SUVs suck (I actually use my 4x4 on a regular basis). Installed a 3.5" lift and 32" tires and did some bolt-on mods (intake, throttle body, hight flow cat/exhaust, tuner). This is now my DD in the winter and I love it, currently has 73000 miles on it.
1997 BMW M3 Coupe - all stock and currently has 80k miles, planning to keep it all stock. This is my summer DD and I plan to keep it for a long time.
Next ride - planning to get my other half a used Audi S4 at some point. She's warming up to the idea but she said she "really loves her Corolla" (it is a good car for her needs, 130k miles in 4 years with no problems)...not much of a car girl, haha.

Also had a 2010 Fatboy lasted a whole five months then sold it, bikes really aren't my cup of tea was my coming home for Afghanastan present to myself
- 1990 BMW 525i automatic ... powered by m20 and slow as molasses, but I loved it. It was my first car; drove the balls off the thing; eventually it developed some sort of thump when I took hard right turns that I could never locate in the rear end ... and right about that time I came across a ...
- 2000 Subaru Impreza L wagon - probably the best car I have ever owned (aside from the brakes ... no ABS and rear drums). Had it modded a little with STi exhaust, short ram intake, thicker rear sway bar, 16 inch alloys, short shifter, strut bars, all that jazz ... it was a very fun car to drive, and then one morning I was cut off by some idiot passing my on an on-ramp, smashed the brakes because I didn't see him until last minute and I stuffed it into a ditch sideways going about 75mph. Drove it out of the ditch ... it drove completely fine even though the left side was all smashed up. Cost me over 1500 to fix it (didn't claim it on insurance) and then I sold it because it just wasn't the same to me any more knowing it was wrecked and fixed.
- 1990 BMW 535i 5 speed w/ LSD ... loved this car initially but it soon developed an issue where if it was hot out, it would simply fall flat on it's face ... Honda Civics would outrun me from the lights on a 95 degree day ... thinking back, it was probably a clogged cat and not everything else I threw money at, but whatever ... got fed up with it and sold it (oh yeah, wrecked this one too at one point on some ice where I stuffed the passenger side front door into a mile marker sign) ... fixed relatively easy as I found the same color door.
- 1995 BMW 318i ... had this car for 23k miles so far and I have loved every minute of it. Slow as hell, not exactly the prettiest thing on the road ... but it's been (knock on wood) as reliable as the sun and it still puts a smile on my face every time I get in it.
-2001 Volkswagen Cabrio. This was my learning car, and drove it through high school.
-2001 Bmw 325ci. This is my second car, I sold the volkswagen now that I am in college, I couldnt stand that thing aha.
first car was an 87 325is, lowered 2 inches and e36 m3 control arms
second car was a 96 328is with m3 front and rear bumpers exhaust cai
recent car is a 96 m3 with billstein sports all around, coilovers, and lots more work coming

The "almost" bought are slightly more interesting. There was the delta blue Citroen SM that was "missing" on one cylinder - I can still hear the guy's thick French accent, "it is a spark plug, I can feel it!!". There was a very nice looking Merkur XR4Ti that drove like a Ford Escort and left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. I remember going back and forth on buying it just so I could look at the rear bi-spoiler in my driveway. And there was a really, really nice Alfa 164S that still haunts me to this day.
