Good diagram for 540i cooling system??

    I used this:

    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...94&hg=64&fg=18

but it doesn't quite look like my engine...

I've got to replace a couple hoses. Thanks.

I was thinking the same thing, but I think there is something we're missing here. Here's the diagram for the M52 (it's a little different)...

Yeah well most likely this engine is shown here for illustration purpose, but for a fact we know this is not a M62.

The wierd thing is if that is an M52/M54 in the diagram, the oil fill opening is on the wrong side and the oil filter housing is at a funny angle.

Yep, the hose circled in red is the one giving me problems. Pinholes, and bulging....

My shifty in the the first post was in reference to the engine in the diagram.

Ok , can anyone give me a part # on this. I've been talking to Jared over at EAC and we are both trying to figure out what's going on here. The hose runs from a pipe behind the intake to the aux water pump/latent heat valve thingy. The hose connects to the passenger side part of the pipe(behind intake), and goes to the bottom port on the aux water pump thing.

    Thanks!

I need to replace those hoses myself. They're still from the factory on my car (1996).

FWIW, I am sure the hose has been replaced at this point, but I believe the part number is 64 21 8 391 013 and the other hose attached to the manifold and going back to the firewall is 64 21 8 391 005. Both around $80.00 from your local BMW dealer and $5.00 to $10.00 from good aftermarket parts places. Hope this helps anyone who, like me, spent two days on the internet trying to find a diagram with part numbers.

Cabin air filter boxes and the ducts that channel the air into the blower under the dash.

    Hey All,
I currently have a coolant leak from the rear of my motor, I own a 1999 540ia (e39) and i cant not find the proper name of the hose.. the hose runs from the rear passenger side of the motor all the way to the midway point of the driver side quarter panel.. I have attached a picture of where the bulge and leak is, i just want to find the right hose.. The above link http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...11&fg=35&hl=28 that quotes its #7 doesnt have the bends that my pipes do so i want to make sure its the right one.. I have attached 2 pics.. The first picture shows where the connection is made at the rear of the motor.. The second i've tried to highlight the path the hose takes and where it terminates..

Hi, everyone. I realize this thread is quite old, but I wanted to clarify for anyone who lands here via search like I did.

The RealOEM diagram in the OP does indeed show the wrong engine and hoses, but the part numbers were correct for my 1997 M62. I just ordered the following from FCP Euro and they match up perfectly.
    - 64218391005
    - 64218391017
    - 64218367929
    - 64218391013 (or 64218387521 for quick-disconnect version)

Those were the only four hoses I needed for the heater core loop.
