Nice Josh! I noticed that had been on CL for months. I'm glad someone picked it up to put it to good use! Are you leaving the lip on the trunk lid? I think it would look awesome if you kept it as well.
Finally got it out of the shop. I avoided a pothole and hit the crater that was hidden directly behind it. Blew the rear passenger strut right through the mount. Got new blistiens instead of the kong's (which were already worn out to be honest and lost all rebound). Car rides even better and feel a lot more planted in the rear.
Also replaced the driveshaft, cause GM auto is garbage and the least friendly thing in the world.

That's awesome that you guys have matching cars!
Brings back memories of when my dad and I had matching black e34 525i's ... right down to the wheels and all!
Installed aftermarket keyless entry and replaced right side headlight.
Also fitted the E39 spec Styling 32's.

I stared at them. Then drank a beer and stared some more.
Remembering the times in the black one(rear ended) and thinking if times to come I. The silver one(new to me shell).
I am in the middle of swapping all my parts over to the silver car.
Restoring style 67 reps...
From this...
to this....
Yes.. not factory or whatever.... but 100% better in my book....
1 done, 3 to go.... just waiting to recover feeling in my arms.... lol

Been adding some new goodies to the 328
Replaced the cabin air filter (yuck!)
Replaced the radiator temperature sensor.
And seeing as I was on such a roll, i thought I'd try and figure out my alarm, and the non-working FOB. Which set it off. BUMMER.
I tried everything I could to remove the nasty chrome plating off, but nothing would remove it, short of grinding the wheel all the way down.... Ended up sanding it hard with low grit sand paper, after hitting it with a wire brush tip on my drill... rough enough for self etching primer, 1 light coat and then 2 heavier coats.. and then paint.. 4 decent coats... and then 3 coats of clear... wet sand and polish by hand...
and yeah.. did it at home.. it has been a "extremely low $ RESCUE"... I paid nothing for the car.. it was going to be junked... had to replace cooling system and wheel bearings.. threw in new e-brake shoes while at it.. interior was extremely dirty but thankfully not destroyed... carpet was filthy.. spent DAYS cleaning it, and this was the result...
Right now, workign on recovering the door panels... its insured now... should go to the DMV on wednesday to get it registered... and take it in the next few days for inspection...
Left to do? REPLACE THE TOP...

I eat in my car on road trips, and my dog comes along on drives often. No matter how badly I intend to keep my car nice, there is no way I'm not going to enjoy it. Sometimes enjoying it means eating a burger in it.
Washed it today and finished off the keyless entry installation by soldering the turn indicator wires.

I installed my new to me diff, should hopefully get the rest of the interior out so I can inspect the rest of the rust areas (only found the crumpled bumper support so far that I didnt know about) and start rust repair in the next couple of days.
I buttoned up the rear diff install, re-installed the muffler, verified electric fan works, verified misfire issue (not the cause), started to put the front end back together. I hope to have it street legal in the next few weeks.
Left front/passenger side window was derailed yesterday. Drove it with 2" window open. Feel bit dizzy all day, had it repaired by mechanic. Fix rear door trim, replaced 3 broken fuses. $15.
Found this in the junkyard from a mini cooper S. Fits perfect. Wanted a UUC one but ill take free over $80.

Finally replaced my catalytic converter and MT fluid. Washed her up and cleaned the interior up real good.
