I've been looking for it everywhere, but it seems like Linotype (who makes the font) managed to quash every instance of it on the web.
What are you planning to do with the font? If it's something simple, I might be able create it for you (graphic, banner, etc.), since I have the whole Helvetica font family. Let me know...

Actually, BMW Helvetica really is different than regular Helvetica. It's not just weight and kerning, some of the letters are reshaped.

Nobody would have a problem getting regular helvetica.

Sorry to revive an old thread but here's my answer when I was looking for the font. Where the other person led me towards Helvetica Neue I narrowed it down and more specifically my best match was Helvetica Neue LT Con 93 Black Extended

Font discussions - only on a BMW forum. Just do it in Comic Sans and call it a day.
    Got it, thanks...

    Oh gawd...

I think that Helvetica Neue is the closest. My roommate is a graphics major here at CCS in Detroit and we have actually talked about this very subject. The font for the rear badges is custom font. All the other typed materials are a version of Helvetica, custom and copyrighted of course

The newest iteration of the BMW font is now called BMW Type Light.

Here is the archive of all BMW fonts ever used, including the BMW Helvetica:

This might seem like quite the random bump of a very old thread, but I wanted to help anyone searching for this font in the future: you'll find an excellent collection of the actual BMW Helvetica fonts in a file called BMW_TT_windows.zip, which if you're any good whatsoever at finding things online shouldn't take you long to locate. Enjoy!
