e46 alarm going off because of heat!!

So last year when I got my car, my car's alarm would go off during the summer randomly. I would leave my car unlocked so the alarm wouldn't go off. Through fall and winter the alarm never went off. I am in New Mexico, and the weather here has been kinda funky. It was 50+ degrees outside and the alarm once again started going off.

What can cause this? When it gets hot enough outside, the alarm starts to go off. How can I fix this? The only good thing about this problem is that I know that the heat or sun is causing the alarm to go off.

    off topic

i had a customer come in complaining about their audis steering wheel heater staying on, complaining once they got in the car it was automatically hot. thats what happens when you park it out in the sun haha.

The most common reason for alarm falses with heat is the hood switch. The expansion of the hood can trigger the pin switch to activate. You can try adjusting it or disconnecting it and see if it fixes it. My E46 also had this problem, but I never got a chance to fix it.
