    E28
E28 Tourings weren't originally produced by BMW. They are aftermarket/kits that only a couple of tuners took on the task of converting. Some are very clean, others not so much. It's sad that most of them are infested with rust since all but one to my knowledge live in the UK or other parts of Europe. There is only one in the US to my understanding, and I've seen it in person

Still a neat time in history, I wonder if BMW had actually produced the E28 Touring if it would've been a success.
Drop it. Stretch it. Poke it. Roll it.

kinda strange that BMW didnt make them when they made the E23 touring. You could even get an E23 745i haha!! alpinacsi has got one that id love to see in person! Where is this E28 touring in the states?

Some of the people doing the conversions did no rust-proofing after the metal work was complete. That left raw steel exposed in the rear door area and if no one goes back in their for repairs or later rust-proofing you get the iron termite.

A guy Named Ivo owned it and brought it to the last few 5erfests, interesting to see in person. Might still be for sale. It's a kind of burgundy color, I believe based off of a 525i and was imported from the Netherlands.

Not factory-made. I saw a white one in the FL panhandle in the mid-80s. Very nice execution, with '74-'76 2002 tail lights!

E23 Tourings were hack-jobs, just like the E28. There was even an E12 touring, but we won't talk about that one and you don't want to see it. A couple companies made them. I thought they were sweet until I had the chance to inspect an E28 touring up close and was thoroughly disappointed. I could never own one. They look good from afar, though.

The tailgate is fiberglass and the whole cargo area looks like an afterthought. That's not to say they're not an interesting piece of BMW history, though.

There was actually 1 or 2 e23 tourings done by the factory. They were used on site and was more of a development toy than anything. Mine was done aftermarket but was sold new at a German dealer; similiar to the Baur cabrolet's. Mine is also unusual in the fact that it is a 745i and many of them were done on the 728 and 732 models.

Still not the best looking tourings but atleast it has a steel hatch and e23 tailights.

Somewhat different, but on the right place I would say

    And a RHD-example with full BBS-kit

These E30's where build by "Luchjenbroers" from the Netherlands. All 4 build still excist:
    No1: still at the dealership
    No2: the blue one
    No3: the white one
    No4: the white RHD.

And here some pictures of a very well known E23, from the secretary of the German E23 Club

Nope, 3. One still with the builder (restored), one sold in 1998, one scrapped.

All these cars are awesome. I have a major weak spot for Euro wagons.
