I'm tired of looking at Bimmerforum, Z Post, Bimmerfest and Z4-Forum every day to see if there's something new or interesting posted, usually to see that the same person has put up the same information on all of them. And never mind Roadfly, which should be shot and put out of its' misery. There are so few Z4M owners already on the forums and the interest level will drop rapidly when it's no longer fashionable to own one. A few thousand cars sold in the US, and a small percentage of those who have any interest in visiting a BMW internet forum. I hope that this little nook of the internet becomes popular and well attended, because I would really prefer to have one forum instead of four.
Dream on.
Well, that makes two anyway, even if one is negative.
Thre are so many forums because each has its own character and people tend to prefer some over others. Sure, there's some overlap because some people post everywhere, but most people stick to one. Bf.c is one of the least-trafficked sites for the Z4 crowd, though it still gets healthy Z3 activity (though the Z3 forum has degraded into mostly whining for a bit).
This car is has a very select following ... BMW sold less than 600 of them last year (that's less than one per dealership).
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
wellI was in the Edmonton dealership today the sold one 2008 at 9 am and are going to bring in one for us once we decicde on the color
That's four in less than 12 hours. Good luck with your purchase.
I'm In....
I agree. Not enough traffic spread out over too many damn forums.
in also
This is the fault of us being such a small minority within the larger BMW world. BF is great for those that want infinite detail on how to track/modify their cars, and Z4-Forum is a good all-around (worldwide) "get-to-know-your-car" type of forum where all you need to do is ask. All the forums are built around their members, participate, and you may find that is all of the sudden ,the one that fits your style ; )
I too wish there was 1 forum.
Even though Roadfly had a crappy interface (and still does) it was 1 place to visit.
I hate visiting so many places: zp0st, z4c0upeaddicts, b1mmerfest, bimmerforums
i just registered here today for the same reason thought i was in the wrong place on all those other boards because there was nobody there, but im slowly realizing there's just not many of us around and spreading everyone out makes it even worse. oh well, i'm checking in too and will see where the masses end up!
in all honesty though, it's a small price to pay to see all those looks on people's faces who dont know what the heck it is youre driving
I'm in! Coming from what I thought was a niche car (2006 Pontiac GTO) to the Z4M, has really opened my eyes on what "niche" means. lol.
You resurrected a thread from 2008. Nothing happened since then. You still have to look at the same three or four forums every day, and sometimes read the same post by the same person on each of them.
If TheHack ever stops posting here, we're doomed.
The Hack and Ron Stygar should receive trophies, certificates of achievement, or something to recognize their faithful and long standing contributions to these boards. Plus they are almost always right when they answer someone's question. Dinner and drinks are on me if either one is ever in south GA. Not likely to happen however.
As an FYI, I am picking one up in about an hour and a half.
You know they wanted to make a M Z4 specific subforum here (and for the M Z3 too). The users protested however, and it was cancelled/rolled back. bfc history...
What would be the point with so few Z4M cars and there not being a huge number of differences from the regular Z4.
Heh, I just pointed that out for the irony of it; the idea of creating yet another subforum for a splinter of a splinter.
I think it is best that we're all in here... and I was of the same opinion back when it was an issue, just for the record.
The "real" Z4 owners should all stick together, whether M or regular. Throw the Z3s in as well. There will be fewer and fewer of us as time goes on. I am excluding the E89 Z4, although those folks could probably get together with the Mercedes crowd and have a nice boulevard cruiser forum.
You had your entire life to prepare for today.
